Cathy Logan

It is with great sadness that we have to advise that Cathy died on the morning on January 11th, 2011.

Our deepest sympathy to her family, friends and fans.

Cathy Logan was born in Cambridge. She started singing locally at fifteen with a twelve piece professional band and went on to join the Bob Johnson band in Birmingham and later Ken McKintosh at the London Hammersmith Palais. This period was to be the training ground for her astounding background and repertoire of wide-ranging styles and material that developed including standards, ballads, country, jazz, pop and rock.

Cathy is an extremely capable, powerful, exciting performer with a distinct style that has enabled her to tour worldwide during her ten years with one of the world's top pop/harmony groups - The New Seekers.

Her natural ability for harmony was apparent when in 1976 while doing some session work she was asked to record some songs for Paul Layton and Marty Kristian of the original New Seekers. When the decision was made to reform the group, along with Eve Graham, Cathy was the obvious choice.

During the next ten years she recorded two albums and five singles, had numerous appearances on TOTP and all the pop variety TV shows in Britain and the USA. The New Seekers supported Shirley Bassey's  UK tour including the Albert Hall and the Palladium Cabaret and concert tours covered the USA, the UK, Europe, Russia, the Far East including Singapore and Thailand.

In 1982 Cathy went solo and had her own jazz quartet with the great jazz bassist Fred Logan (ex Tubby Hayes). After an absence from the scene for some years while focusing on family life, Cathy has recently resumed her career with solo cabaret performances and a re-union show with Eve Graham.

A list of Cathy's extensive repertoire of material is available HERE together with some downloadable MP3 format demos.
